Retrospective of DEVERNE at MAISON ANNA HEYLEN BRUSSELS
Michel Deverne, a French Kinetic Artist.
All the works of Deverne aim to reinvent public space and to renew the link between artist and city planner within a
changing society. Whether working with metal, mosaics, laminate with his collages, or creating cartoons for tapestries,
he thinks in terms of architectural space. He uses the repetition of a module, fragmented into scales, to portray endless
flow and brings out the impetus inherent in a cellular system. His defining trademarks are obelisk, the spiral, the totem,
the sphere. These shapes work like signs which play with light. An intuitive geometer, he unveils invisible forces animated
by the color which infuses the combinations of mathematical elements and cellular play which characterizes his high relief
works in aluminium. The subtle vibration encourage dreaming without detracting from a clarity half way between abstraction

From Tuesday 18th of October until Saturday 22nd of October, Maison Anna Heylen organizes the Contemporary Fashion Days.
Visitors are welcome in Lombardenstraat 16, Antwerp from 13h00 until 18h00 for womens collection, accessories and fabrics.

YOU WIE NG
During the Fashionshow of the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Maison Anna Heylen gave an award to the student YOUWIE NG.
The designer granted to a student with an eye for craftsmanship and handcraft, interesting details and coupe. Next to the award of €500,
the student also won a two-week display at the Maison Anna Heylen shops in Brussels and Antwerp.
